With Pokémon Legends Arceus set for release in January 2022, the Pokémon Company has gradually been revealing teasers on the new creatures and gameplay that fans can look forward to. Besides the brand new Pokémon in the Hisui region, players will also be able to catch Pokémon from previous generations—including a new regional variant called their Hisuian form. This time around, we get a first look at Hisuian Voltorb.

Not only do we get a debut trailer for the Pokéball-inspired Electric-type, but the developers also dropped a cute animated short film showcasing Hisuian Voltorb interacting with Pikachu and munching on berries!

Voltorb is still one of the classic Pokémon for long-time fans, even if its design isn't the most revolutionary or detailed one out there. Players will remember that the non-Hisuian form looked pretty much like a Pokéball but with facial expressions. Now the Hisuian version adds a little bit more detail to the orb, making it look cute rather than menacing. (Watch out—self-destruct can still be a shock factor, though!)

Pokémon Legends Arceus is a fresh take on the beloved franchise as it won't be about defeating Gym Leaders and becoming the Champion. Instead, the title is an open-world role-playing game (RPG) where trainers get to explore Hisui region and complete the Pokédex (a bit more similar in concept to Let's Go Eevee! and Let's Go Pikachu!). Besides that, there will be exciting Alpha and Noble Pokémon, which are stronger creatures, and players will get to fly or surf on Pokémon with breathtaking, 3D-looking graphics.

Of course, just like the Alolan Ninetales, the Hisuian forms are something fans are really looking forward to. Previously, we already got glimpses of Hisuian Zoroark, showcasing a very Japanese traditional style. Now with Hisuian Voltorb, many have already taken to social media and praised the adorable new design.

With just a month and a half to go until Pokémon Legends Arceus arrives, we can expect to see more teasers and Hisuian forms reveled in the coming days.
