Rainbow Six Extraction will no longer be released this year. R6 Extraction will now be released on January 2022.

Originally meant to come out this September, Ubisoft decides to delay the release of Rainbow 6 Extraction. Along with it is Riders Republic, which will also be delayed. But unlike R6 ExtractionRiders Republic will still come out this year. Riders Republic‘s new release date is on October 28, 2021.

As for why Ubisoft decided to delay the release of Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic, it's basically for more quality assurance. Ubisoft's blog post on R6 Extraction‘s delay reads: “We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves in January 2022.”

Riders Republic‘s blog post had a similar message. “To ensure we can deliver the best game for all players, we've made the tough decision to delay our release date from September 2 to October 28,” it reads. “This will give us more time to fine tune the experience and give you another chance to jump in before launch and provide feedback.”

While it's good that both Riders Republic and Rainbow Six Extraction will receive more time in the oven, it doesn't excuse the fact that Ubisoft has made a premature release date announcement, only to have the release date be pushed back. Fans of R6 would be more especially disappointed, given that Rainbow Six Extraction would have been delayed more than several times now.

Still, a good game that launches later than it would have been is better than a bad game released on time.
