The Toronto Raptors are off to the most disappointing start for any team in the NBA, and the tough times keep coming for Toronto.

Raptors starting guard Kyle Lowry will be out for Friday's game against the Miami Heat with a rather strange injury.

A toe infection isn't a rare injury that isn't typically seen amongst NBA players. However, it's been bothering him for a while, so Nick Nurse will be without Lowry for the time being. Norman Powell will start in Lowry's place on Friday night.

Lowry has gotten off to a good start in the 2020-2021 NBA season even though the Raptors haven't been able to find much success. He is averaging 18.2 points per game with seven assists and 6.5 rebounds through 13 games this season.

For the Raptors, their season hasn't gone according to plan, and it seems as though playing every game on the road is much tougher than it was originally thought to be.

Nurse's team is 5-9 and 13th in the Eastern Conference, and the hits keep coming for Toronto.

The Raptors recently released center Alex Len, and Nick Nurse recently ripped his team for their overall lack of defense in the early stages of the year.

For a team just a couple of years removed from winning the Larry O'Brien trophy, it seems that they might be at risk of missing the playoffs altogether this season.

Lowry shouldn't be out for long, but the Raptors will certainly miss his presence.
