The Toronto Raptors will be without both Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam for Sunday night's big matchup against the Denver Nuggets in the Mile High City.

Both teams are playing excellent basketball right now, with the Raptors holding the NBA's best record at 23-8 overall and the Nuggets tied atop the Western Conference with a 19-9 record.

But it may be the Nuggets that have the edge in this particular meeting between the two as Lowry and Siakam will be sidelined, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps:

No Kyle Lowry or Pascal Siakam in Denver today. Fred VanVleet, meanwhile, is doubtful.

Lowry has been dealing with a thigh injury and did not play in Toronto's 128-122 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. He's currently averaging a double-double this season by posting 14.2 points and 10.0 assists per game.

Meanwhile, Siakam was considered questionable for the game due to a back injury, and he has also played a big role in the Raptors' success this season by averaging 14.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest.

They are two of five Raptors players scoring 12.8 points or more per game, and that has helped this team be a tough matchup for opponents.

Toronto is 2-1 during its four-game road trip, and it would undoubtedly be a huge boost to get a win over the Nuggets, who are also on a roll right now.

But without Lowry and Siakam in the lineup, it's certainly going to be a much tougher matchup.

After the trip to Denver, the Raptors will return home to face the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
