Last Sunday, the Toronto Raptors hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder looking to stretch their win streak to 12 games, but failed to do so as they succumbed to Russell Westbrook and company. Entering the game with a lengthy unbeaten run, the Raptors might have forgotten a bit just how it feels like to be on the short end of the stick, as they certainly did not take the defeat well.

Making the loss an even more bitter pill to swallow for Toronto was the number of ejections the Raptors got towards the end of their 132-125 setback with DeMar DeRozan, Serge Ibaka, and head coach Dwane Casey all getting tossed out of the ball game.

DeMar DeRozan

Everything started when DeRozan felt that he was fouled by Thunder swingman Corey Brewer during a layup attempt but did not get a call from the game’s officials. DeMar DeRozan, clearly incensed by the non-call, jawed at the referees, paving the way for his ejection. Ibaka was then sent to the showers too moments later before Casey followed DeRozan and Ibaka to the locker room when he was also ejected from the contest.

Now comes the NBA’s last two-minute report that says Corey Brewer did not foul DeRozan, which is something the Raptors definitely would not like hearing, per Royce Young of ESPN.

As explained on the report, DeRozan’s hand became “part of the ball” during the play that triggered the game to nearly descend to pure chaos, and because of that, what Corey Brewer did simply did not warrant to be called as a foul.

In any case, the game is long over, and the Raptors will just have to accept it and move on. If they are still feeling resentful of everything that transpired in the Thunder game, they could vent all that on the Orlando Magic this Tuesday.

The Raptors still lead the Eastern Conference with a 52-18 win-loss record.
