Toronto Raptors big man Marc Gasol recently looked back on his brief history with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 34-year-old described what kind of experience he had as a member of the Purple and Gold for a few months.

For a little bit of basketball history, Gasol was actually drafted by the Lakers back in 2007. He was selected in the second round as the 48th overall pick. However, he would never get the opportunity to suit up for L.A. as the team traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies before he could even make his NBA debut.

Interestingly, he was traded for his own brother, Pau Gasol, who himself would go on to win a few titles with the Lakers alongside the great Kobe Bryant.

At this point, however, it's Marc's turn to take a shot at the coveted NBA championship. After spending 11 and a half years with the Grizzlies, the younger Gasol will be taking part in his first ever Finals appearance with the Raptors.

Following his mid-season trade, Gasol is no longer the cornerstone big man he once was with Memphis. He has seen his role take a significant hit with the Raptors, but with a championship ring potentially on the horizon, we're sure he's not complaining.

Game 1 of the Finals is scheduled for Thursday night, and Gasol and the Raptors will be hoping to draw first blood in their home floor as they host a heavily-favored, dynasty-seeking Warriors side.
