Serge Ibaka's name has become increasingly popular in the last week, and plenty of teams are desiring to bring the Republic of Congo big man on board as free agency draws closer.

Ibaka didn't make it easier for the sports world that's on the edge of their seats on Friday, as threw out a cryptic picture of him on a plane with the caption “On my way to…”.

Ibaka is coming off a dominant season even at the age of 31. He finished last season with the Toronto Raptors averaging 15.4 points, the highest scoring mark of his career, while grabbing 8.2 rebounds per game as well. While the Raptors would surely enjoy the luxury of bringing back Ibaka, their current financial situation may not allow it.

The Raptors are faced with the pending decisions of re-signing Fred VanVleet as well, which could ultimately end the discussion of Ibaka coming back to Toronto. VanVleet is set to take on a massive payday this offseason following his elite production over the past couple of seasons. He's viewed as the best point-guard option in the free agency class.

Serge Ibaka will likely be one of the first names erased off the free agent market as well. There are quite a few teams on the search for another bona fide big to shore up their defenses in the frontcourt. He's recently been linked to the Brooklyn Nets with Kevin Durant being a reportedly an avid recruiter of Ibaka. Durant and Ibaka spent some years together during their stint with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
