A potential trade that would swap Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry and center Jonas Valanciunas for Mike Conley and Marc Gasol has been of no interest to the Memphis Grizzlies and no longer has any traction, according to Michael Grange of Rogers SportsNet.

The Grizzlies reportedly wanted a young player in trade, such as Pascal Siakam or OG Anunoby — two pieces the Raptors value too much to give up in a point-guard-and-center swap.

As it sits, the Charlotte Hornets have the lead in the Gasol sweepstakes, while Conley has been firm about his desire to not wind up in Utah, but rather land somewhere in the Eastern Conference, with the Indiana Pacers showing interest in acquiring him.

As for the Raptors, it's likely they could let the trade deadline pass and become active in the buyout market once it's fully populated — a strategy several championship contenders have adopted in recent years.

Toronto isn't necessarily shopping Kyle Lowry, but they have clearly looked to move Valanciunas' contract, having gone from a big man with promise to one who hardly fits the system under head coach Nick Nurse.

The 7-footer has lost value since being demoted to a bench role, and his 25 straight absences also don't bode well, though the big man is expected to return shortly.
