The New York Knicks fired Steve Mills from his post as president of basketball operations on Tuesday, which could open up the door for Masai Ujiri. Of course, Ujiri is currently general manager of the Toronto Raptors, so the Knicks would have to offer the Raptors compensation to pry him away, but New York seems intent on bringing him in.

But does Ujiri feel the same way?

Only Ujiri knows for sure, but David Gardner of Bleacher Report dug into the archives and found a 2014 clip (Gardner made a typo in the initial post saying 2015) of Ujiri saying that he isn't exactly fond of the Knickerbockers:

We probably shouldn't read too much into this.

Ujiri said this while working for Toronto, which is an Atlantic Division rival of New York's. Plus, at the time, there were no rumors of the Knicks potentially offering him in the neighborhood of $15 million a year, which could certainly change his stance on how he feels about the club.

All in all, it's a funny video, but it's one that should probably be taken with a grain of salt (I mean, it's six years old).

Ujiri has a pretty nice gig with the Raptors right now, but he already reached the pinnacle of success by delivering a championship to the starving city last season, so maybe he is ready for a new challenge?

And just imagine how much Knicks would worship Ujiri if he hung another banner in Madison Square Garden.

It remains to be seen what becomes of Ujiri and the Knicks, but we can probably safely bet that this 2014 clip is no longer relevant.
