The Baltimore Ravens seemingly made a statement when they added quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Lamar Jackson to the roster this offseason. However, it appears the former's future with the team is all but uncertain.

It goes without saying that Flacco and Jackson already have a spot on the roster. According to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, head coach John Harbaugh says Baltimore will take a wait-and-see approach with Griffin:

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the decision will “go right to the wire.”

“There's no question that the best quarterback thing to do would be to keep Robert Griffin. He's proven it,” Harbaugh said. “He's played exceptionally well, and it makes the team better.”

Griffin has been solid through the preseason thus far. He has completed 18 of 26 passes for 177 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Even the interception was not his fault considering his pass bounced right off the hands of wide receiver Breshad Perriman. That said, it would be difficult to ask much more out of him given his timeshare with the other quarterbacks.

His status could largely hinge on the progression of Jackson leading up to the regular season. Griffing is in a difficult spot between the proven starter in Flacco and a potential franchise quarterback. If Harbaugh feels Jackson can at least be a viable backup for the time being, it would make no sense to keep Griffin on the roster.

Unfortunately, the rookie has admittedly had some difficulty finding his footing at the next level. As a result, the Ravens will likely use the entire preseason to decide on how to go about the situation moving forward.
