Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is a pretty unique QB given his combination of size, strength, and speed. As such, Baltimore Ravens safety Eric Weddle had a pretty unique way of describing him.

Weddle went all the way back in time to come up with an apt comparison for Newton’s amazing ability to do what he does on the football field.

“He’s a fast dinosaur, muscular and big and runs people over in the open field,” Weddle said per the team’s official website. “Makes guys miss. He’s a very unique quarterback in this league. He’s the only one really like him.”

And when asked which dinosaur Newton was specifically, Weddle came up with a triceratops because he “just bowls people over.”

Weddle’s comparison of Cam as a fast dinosaur is quite an accurate one. It’s just remarkable how Newton is able to simply overpower opposing defenses with his legs. He’s bigger than even most NFL linebackers and can be incredibly tough to bring down. That’s why he’s one of the most productive running quarterbacks in NFL history.

But aside from his remarkable ability as a rusher, Newton is also pretty capable as a passer, which makes him all the more dangerous. That will make it all the more difficult for Weddle and the rest of the Ravens defense to put a stop to the fast dinosaur on Sunday.
