Amid the current situation in the world, we have seen a lot of athletes and celebrities (among others) donating and finding ways to help others. Washington Redskins running back and future Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson is joining that list.

Peterson and his wife Ashley have the “Adrian and Ashley Peterson Family Foundation” on the Twitter account for the foundation; they announced the news. They will be donating $100,000 to Houston as further aid for senior citizens and students during the coronavirus outbreak.

These are far from fun times. Due to that, hearing good news and heartwarming stories are very important. And doing good even more so.

Peterson managed to do a little bit of both. He's doing something wonderful by giving money to help those in need. And in doing so, he's giving everyone something to smile about.

And please do not be one of those “that's all he's giving?” people. $100,000 is still a lot of money and can do a ton of good for a lot of people.

Peterson giving that is also coupled with all the other donations. And could play a part in helping keep people safe and healthy.

It's also important to note the people he is helping. Students tend not to have much money, and with them being quarantined at the moment, they are in need now more than ever.

Meanwhile, senior citizens are at the most risk during this pandemic. That means they can't really go out much to get supplies. And even when they do, they have to worry about people panicking and storming the stores, which could lead to them being injured.

Those are definitely two groups of people that could use some help in these sad times.

The running back has had a resurgence with the Redskins over the last two seasons and is continuing to prove he can be an MVP type off the field as well.
