The injury-riddled 2017 NFL season is finally about to come to an end for the Washington Redskins. That said, they have a crucial offseason coming up to prepare for.

Among the most notable questions has been regarding quarterback Kirk Cousins' future in Washington. According to Kimberley Martin of the Washington Post, head coach Jay Gruden was adamant about his desire for Cousins to remain with the team leading up to their season finale versus the lowly New York Giants:

“I’m sure he knows [how I feel]. I mean, he should know. I’ve made it clear,” Gruden said. “I’ve been working with him for a long time now and we’ve put a lot of time and a lot of work together with one another trying to get him better, and he’s made me better. So that’s worked out very well. Of course he knows that we want him back, but at the end of the day, like I said, agents, everybody gets involved and he’s got to make a decision for himself.”

The Redskins raised plenty of speculation regarding their confidence in Cousins after slapping him with a second consecutive franchise tag. Since then, questions have continues to linger about whether or not they are comfortable with moving forward with him as their franchise quarterback.

Given the array of quarterback struggles throughout the league this year, there are plenty of teams who would love to sign a signal caller that is about to come off his third consecutive 4,000-yard season. However, it seems Washington may only be intent on doing it for the right price.
