The Washington Redskins have been anxious to get Jordan Reed back into their offense but his return doesn't seem to be imminent. After another injury in his career, Reed could be out for ‘weeks' this season.

The Redskins have been without Reed this season due to a concussion he suffered in the team's third preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. This isn't the first time that the veteran tight end has had injury issues in his career.

Since the Redskins drafted Reed with the 85th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, injuries have hindered his ability to remain on the field. Over his seven-year career, the talented pass-catcher has missed 33 games due to injuries (including the first two games of this season).

There's no denying the fact that Reed has the skill set to be an elite tight end in the NFL. However, the best ability in football is availability and he hasn't been available often.

The Redskins are still searching for their first win of the season as they square off against the Chicago Bears on Monday night. With Reed out, Washington will likely continue to lean on Vernon Davis as their starter at tight end.

At 35-years-old, Davis is still capable of being a viable option for Case Keenum. Davis has caught seven passes for 88 yards and a touchdown in the first two games this season.

As for Reed, the Florida product doesn't seem to be on track to return to the team soon with yet another injury getting in the way of playing the game he loves.
