Washington Football Team coach Ron Rivera needed to undergo treatment at halftime of the team's impressive comeback in Week 1. When Washington faces the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Week 2, Rivera is expected to have another treatment at halftime, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

“If I'm feeling it, I will tell our head trainer [Ryan Vermillion] that I need it,” Rivera said Friday before his team left for Arizona.

Of course, for those that don't know, Ron Rivera was diagnosed with cancer earlier this offseason. Rivera was discovered to have squamous cell carcinoma, but it is in the early stages of cancer.

Therefore, Rivera's cancer is considered to be ‘very treatable and curable' moving forward. However, Rivera is still deciphering how to deal with cancer as he battles it every day. As Schefter points out, Rivera's sleep schedule has been affected by his bout with cancer.

For instance, Rivera now usually goes to bed at 9 p.m., about two hours earlier than he usually has during his decorated coaching career. He gets treatments that sometimes throw off the timing of his days.

Last Sunday, Ron Rivera was able to secure his first victory as the head coach in Washington. His team began the game down 17-0, only for them to score 27 unanswered points to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles.

What put a smile on Rivera's face was seeing his daunting defensive front sack Carson Wentz eight times throughout the first week of the season. While he hopes his defense can slow down Kyler Murray in Week 2, Rivera will need another halftime treatment to make it through Sunday's contest.
