Dwayne Haskins is entering his second season with the Washington Redskins and Urban Meyer — his former head coach at Ohio State — seems to still be high on him. Just two weeks before the 2020 NFL Draft, Meyer made some telling comments about Haskins when talking about Joe Burrow, the LSU quarterback expected to go No. 1 overall in the draft.

In speaking to the media on Thursday, Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk reports that Meyer said,

“Dwayne Haskins is probably the best quarterback ever to play at Ohio State.”

Meyer also had the opportunity to coach Burrow in his first three seasons of college at Ohio State. However, Haskins was able to beat out Burrow for the starting job in 2018. As a result, Burrow transferred to LSU for the final two seasons of his collegiate career.

In his lone season as the starter at Ohio State, Haskins threw for 4,831 yards, 50 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Following his standout season in 2018, Haskins was the No. 15 pick to the Washington Redskins in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Now, Burrow is projected to be the No. 1 pick in this year's draft after putting together a historic season at LSU. Despite said historic, Meyer explained why Haskins won the job over Burrow at Ohio State two years ago.

“Joe was a little behind. You know why? Joe was also Mr. Ohio in basketball and they had a great team in the state championships, and he’s just one of those all-purpose tough guy leaders … Joe Burrow is a no brainer. Absolute no brainer. Can he throw as accurately as Dwayne? He’s improved, but he wasn’t that way. But his leadership skills, his toughness, competitive — you talk about a competitive maniac, that’s who Joe Burrow is.”

Similar to most people, Meyer believes Burrow is a surefire pick in this year's draft. At the same time, he appears to be one of Haskins' biggest fans.
