Atlanta Hawks center Dwight Howard was reportedly rushed to a hospital after experiencing dehydration symptoms during a flight to Atlanta Sunday night, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

It's always a scary situation whenever you are needed to be taken to a hospital but it looks like for Howard, this might not have been too serious.

Here's the official report:

Dwight Howard was taken to a hospital late Sunday night after feeling ill on a plane flight to Atlanta, according to several people familiar with the situation. It is believed that the Hawks center suffered from dehydration. He is being treated and is expected to be released from the hospital early Monday morning.

Howard had been in China for a 10-day promotional tour with shoe manufacturer Peak. The DH2 shoe was revealed last week featuring Hawks colors and ‘Be Gr8' since Howard is changing his number to No. 8 this season. A release date hasn't been announced yet for the shoe.

Howard declined a $23.2 million option to stay with the Houston Rockets this summer, instead electing to return to his hometown Hawks and sign a three-year, $70.5 million deal.

The Hawks receive a big boost to their rim protection in Howard, even if the 30-year-old is on the decline. Last season, Howard averaged the fewest amount of points since his rookie season, 13.7 per game, along with 11.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 71 games.
