The 2017 NBA Summer League is now underway, with many of the league's young talent gaining much-needed experience on the court prior to the start of next season.

However, it appears that the Chicago Bulls will venture the rest of the Summer League without the services of guard Kris Dunnaccording to Nick Friedell of ESPN.

Although there is no clarity at this moment as to what personal matter Dunn is going to attend, it clearly outweighs anything on the court. The Summer League would have provided him more familiarity with the Bulls' offensive system, but Dunn is already assured a spot on the roster next season and will be one of their key players in the rotation.

The 23-year-old was acquired by the Bulls as part of the blockbuster trade that sent All-Star forward Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but he struggled to play with consistency on the court in his rookie year, averaging 3.8 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per contest. He played in 78 games, receiving seven starts.

Dunn will have an opportunity to latch onto a significant role off the bench with the Bulls next season, and possibly garner a starting spot down the road.
