After losing Dwight Howard in free agency, the Houston Rockets are preparing for a new era with their superstar James Harden still at the helm. They're hoping the drama of the last few seasons will dwindle away.

The Rockets are looking to spread the floor with new additions Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon, but they were still lacking an inside presence with Howard's leaving the center spot vacant.

After looking at a number of candidates, Houston finally came to terms with Nene on a one-year deal worth $2.9 million (via Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical).

The talented big man seems excited about the change of scenery:

It was a disappointing season for Nene's Washington Wizards in 2015-16, but he performed quite well on a personal level. The 6'11” center managed to put up 17.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 54.4 percent from the floor.
