After what was essentially an entire season of speculation, the Sacramento Kings look like they will finally fire head coach George Karl on Thursday, one day after the conclusion of the regular season.

According to The Sacramento Bee:

“Multiple league sources have indicated Karl will be fired Thursday. The sources would not go on the record because they are unauthorized to speak on the matter.”

This is not very surprising given the season the Kings just went through and the storied turmoil between Karl and star center DeMarcus Cousins. Karl was rumored to have been pressured to resign near the end of March, which did not occur.

Now that Karl will be leaving, perhaps Cousins and the Kings can focus on basketball rather than the feud and make it back to the playoffs in 2017.
