Although it's not really a mystery at this point, all signs are pointing towards the Philadelphia 76ers taking Ben Simmons with the No. 1 overall pick.

The Sixers' general manager, Bryan Colangelo, who holds the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, is leaning towards taking Simmons. When Philadelphia won the draft lottery a few weeks ago, reports had surfaced that this was the case. Because of NBA rules, Colangelo denied it, because the league wants drama and speculation as to who the Sixers will take leading up to the draft.

Here's a report from Philadelphia Magazine all but confirming that this is actually the case:

“In an interview with Howard Eskin on 94 WIP, Sixers president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo admitted to knowing what he would do with the first pick if the draft were held today.

‘Yes,' Colangelo responded. ‘I know what I would do today.'

As I reported over the weekend, multiple sources with knowledge of the Sixers’ thought process say it is LSU forward Ben Simmons who Colangleo is leaning towards selecting first overall in June 23rd’s NBA draft.”

At this point, the only speculation are the top picks after the No. 2 overall selection. With Philadelphia expected to take Simmons at No. 1, the Los Angeles Lakers will likely take Brandon Ingram with the No. 2 overall pick.
