Former Houston Rockets big man Tarik Black is taking his talents to the land of milk and honey.

According to Sportando, Black has agreed to a contract with Israel-based ball club in the EuroLeague.

Free agent big man Tarik Black and EuroLeague club Maccabi Tel Aviv have reached an agreement on a deal, a source told Sportando.
The former Kansas Jayhawk will be playing in Europe for the first time in his career after he spent the past four seasons in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.

Black’s decision to play in another continent seems to be a direct result of him not getting interesting offers from NBA teams. He last suited up for the Rockets after signing a one-year, $3.29 million deal in 2017, and soon found himself hitting free agency, hoping that an NBA team will come calling with a good offer.

With Maccabi Tel Aviv, Tarik Black will be playing alongside fellow Americans like DeAndre Kane, former NBA Draft second-round pick Johnny O’Bryant, Jeremy Pargo, Ray Kendrick, and former Florida Gators star, Scottie Wilbekin, per Real GM.

Tarik Black can ease himself back into the NBA next year, when the salary cap is expected to rise and with plenty of teams hitting a salary cap reset after going through a cap crunch in 2018.

Black, who has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, has mostly served as a backup center in the NBA. In three seasons in the league, he managed to put up a stat line of 4.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks per game.
