The Houston Rockets are still not over the bitter loss they endured at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs. In fact, they decided to add fuel to the fire by filing a protest on James Harden's uncounted dunk during the 135-133 double-overtime defeat.

According to ESPN's Tim McMahon, Houston was positive that the league would take action on the play they believed was a missed call. However, they will be ready to escalate the protest in order to ensure that the league will be making a move.

The dunk would have given the Rockets a definite advantage and probably helped in preventing a comeback from happening. However, the ball whipped through the net and back over the rim, causing the officiating crew to call it as a missed dunk by mistake.

Mike D'Antoni tried challenging the call, but the officials were having none of it.

Here's what the head honcho of the officiating team said about the incident.

“When the play happened, Harden goes in for a dunk, and then the ball appears to us to pop back through the net,” crew chief James Capers told a pool reporter. “When that happens, that is basket interference. To have a successful field goal, it must clear the net. We have since come in here and looked at the play. He dunked it so hard that the net carried it back over the rim a second time, so in fact it did clear the net and should have been a successful field goal.”

Harden finished the night with another incredible performance. He notched an incredible stat line of 50 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
