Another day, another 30-point game for Houston Rockets guard James Harden. However, this one against the Minnesota Timberwolves carries a bit more significance since his streak is now on par with that of Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain's.

Harden registered 42 points against the Timberwolves on Wednesday night.

According to CBS Sports, he has now tied Chamberlain's second-longest streak of 30-plus points:

Rockets' James Harden ties Wilt Chamberlain for second in NBA history with 31 straight games of 30-plus points

There had been reports about Harden dealing with a potential shoulder injury. Regardless, he was not going to let that stop him from keeping the streak alive. He will now enter the All-Star break with a chance to pick up where he left off next week.

It is no secret that Harden has been unstoppable in the 2018-19 NBA season. However, he has managed to take his play to the next level after following up his spectacular January effort by averaging 37.7 points per game in the month of February.

Despite the recent return of point guard Chris Paul, it is clear that they will continue to rely heavily on his scoring moving forward.

Despite Houston's struggles at times this season, there is still no question that Harden is putting together another MVP-caliber campaign.

Anytime a player is mentioned in the same breath as Chamberlain when it comes to scoring, he must be up for consideration regardless of the team's spot in the standings.

Harden will have a chance to extend his streak against a porous Los Angeles Lakers defense next Thursday.
