Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta took to Twitter to defend himself after a report from NBA media personality Brian Geltzeiler suggested Fertitta is trying to cut costs all across the organization:

It's no surprise Fertitta is coming to his own defense on Twitter. It has to be frustrating to see stories about yourself 24/7, especially when some are bound to be wrong.

Fertitta was quick to ask for any form of proof. While the Rockets have made it a point to cut team payroll in order to duck the luxury tax this season, there's no public evidence of him cutting a bunch of costs everywhere else.

This is the second time an owner has lashed out in the last week. New York Knicks owner James Dolan was recently in the news for banning a fan for heckling him. While both could be considered the person defending themselves, Fertitta was calling out a reporter who reported a story he believes to be fake. Dolan banned someone for making fun of him and doesn't seem to be apologetic about it at all.

We'll have to wait and see if anything actually comes of this story involving Fertitta and the Rockets. Houston is peaking at the right time on the basketball court, and no distractions are needed as the playoffs approach.
