There is a chance Charlotte Hornets fans could see Russell Westbrook in the new team threads before long, and the new uniforms look good on “The Brodie.”

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Thursday the Hornets were intrigued by acquiring Westbrook after the former NBA MVP requested a trade from the Houston Rockets.

Suddenly, Charlotte fans can dream about what Russ would look like in the team's new “Buzz City Minted” edition jerseys. In fact, the process has already begun (via ESPN's Grant Goldberg).

Charlotte's new uniforms have garnered plenty of praise, including from the players. Hornets breakout guard Devonte' Graham had quite the reaction to the unveiling.

The new uniforms have captured the attention of the fan base, to say the least.

Buzz City fans responded to the news with a number of positive reactions. There was a certain “buzz” in the response, one might say.

The question now seemingly becomes whether Russell Westbrook will be rocking the “Buzz City” threads himself next year or not.

There is a connection between Russ and the Hornets. Westbrook is a Jordan athlete, and Michael Jordan is the majority owner of the franchise.

However, it remains to be seen what kind of package Charlotte could offer the Rockets, and whether Charloote will part with assets or not to take on Russ' massive salary. Not to mention, the Hornets just signed Terry Rozier in free agency last summer.

Still, it is possible Jordan and the rest of Buzz City's brass feel Russ can be the new face of the franchise while leading the young guys in their continued development.
