New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas had some interesting remarks for his Twitter followers following news of Tennessee Titans players testing positive for COVID-19.

Thomas drew correlations between news of the positive COVID-19 tests and Tuesday night's presidential debate for the upcoming general election.

The pandemic has been a national storyline for over six months now, so Michael Thomas' wording is somewhat confusing.

Indeed, the responses were full of mixed reactions as people tried to decipher what exactly Thomas meant.

Thomas has never hesitated to use his Twitter as a means for making a statement. He chastised quarterback Drew Brees after Brees made comments regarding kneeling during the national anthem as a protest.

Now, it would seem Thomas is buying into some sort of conspiracy theory.

Athletes from all different sports and backgrounds have grown more politically and socially active in recent months, and the NFL has even launched campaigns encouraging citizens to vote.

Meanwhile, Saints fans hope Thomas is nearing a return after the team suffered its second consecutive loss against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.

Thomas sustained an ankle injury during Week 1, and he has not been able to suit up in each of the last two contests.

Brees and the Saints have managed to move the ball, though New Orleans' quarterback has mostly had to rely on shallow crossing routes and drop-offs to running back Alvin Kamara.

In any case, Thomas is still working his way back from the ankle injury, though he is also giving his two cents on COVID-19 and Tuesday night's debate.
