Shaquille O’Neal is known for having a big heart. That generosity was on full display when the Big Credit Card paid for a stranger’s wedding ring because, well, he wanted to.

In a video posted to Instagram by shaqfu_radio, O’Neal was seen passing his credit card to the cashier to pay for the ring picked out by the man making the purchase.

The video has since gone viral, and Shaq was asked about the kind gesture by his co-hosts on TNT’s Postgame Show.

“I was in Zales looking for some loop earrings,” Shaquille O’Neal said, recounting the events. “I see a guy come in and he was saying, hey, how much do I owe to pay off my ring? And I was like, my man, how much is the ring? I’m not gonna say the amount, but this is something that I do every day.”

According to Shaq, the gentleman initially refused to accept the kind gesture, but it’s not hard to change your mind when the one who’s offering happens to be one of the most famous basketball players in the world.

Of course, Shaq is no stranger to opening his wallet for other people. He once surprised a teenager with 10 pairs of shoes. He’s paid for random birthday parties and annually dons his Christmastime alter-ego, Shaq-a-Clause, to give holiday gifts to children.

Early last year, Shaquille O'Neal also bought a fan a laptop after the fan came up to him to express his condolences over the passing of Kobe Bryant and Shaq’s sister, Ayesha Harrison-Jex, who passed away in October 2019 following a battle with cancer.
