Jay “sinatraa” Won, former Overwatch League star and currently suspended VALORANT player, landed himself in hot water when allegations of sexual assault came to light. The issue attracted public attention when Sinatraa's ex-girlfriend Cleo “Cle0h” Hernandez published the allegation on her Twitter account. Riot acted swiftly and moved to suspend the American FPS star from the VALORANT Champions Tour. He finally published his own statement regarding the allegations earlier today.

SINATRAA SPEAKS

The suspended VALORANT player denies assaulting his former partner in “any way.” He goes on to say that he intends to fully cooperate with any and all investigations regarding the allegations. Sinatraa promised to provide video and audio clips that might serve to clarify the situation.

“It is clear from Cleo’s recent post that she recalls our relationship differently than I do. What we do agree on is that it was unhealthy for both of us. I apologize to Cleo and regret how things ended, but I never assaulted her in any way. I am fully cooperating with the investigations and providing the full audio and video clips Cleo referenced in her post.”

The brief announcement earned Sinatraa an avalanche of negative responses. Several people called the player out for making light of sexual assault. Others urged him to delete the statement before it causes more problems down the line.

The truth can never be confirmed without making a proper investigation in the case. However, the damage has already been done to Sinatraa. The statement indicates that an investigation is currently ongoing. There's no guarantee if a proper update to the case will be offered in the future. Currently, Sinatraa can't escape from his current suspension or his cancellation from social media.
