Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid was narrowly defeated in the MVP race by Nikola Jokic this year. The two centers went back-and-forth all season long but Jokic ultimately walked away with the award. Nonetheless, Embiid is one of the best players in the NBA. And the league should be on notice after the latest news out of Philadelphia in reference to Embiid.

According to The Ringer, Joel Embiid is working on improving two areas of his game. The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor wrote the following in a recent article entitled, “The Ringer's 2022 NBA Draft Guide.”

But sources say Joel Embiid is working to expand his transition and perimeter game. If Embiid gets better, and if Morey can improve this roster, they could have a bounceback season

The story in question revolves around the 76ers and James Harden. Harden is eligible to become a free agent. He would likely pursue a super max deal while the Sixers would prefer to extend him for around three years. The article states that the 76ers could be in store for a rebound campaign if Joel Embiid improves and James Harden returns along with some additions to the overall roster.

An improved Embiid would spell trouble for the rest of the league. He is fresh off of a 2021-2022 performance that saw him lead the league in points per game with 30.6, while also averaging 11.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest. He shot just under 50 percent from the field and added an impressive 37 percent three-point shooting percentage.

The 76ers are in good hands with Joel Embiid on the floor. He could win his first MVP next season.
