Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons made a rather random cameo in rapper Meek Mill's “Issues” music video.
The Rookie of the Year discussed his brief appearance in the Philly native's music video with Kish Lal of VICE.
How did you end up making a cameo Meek Mill’s ‘Issues’ video?
Yeah that was random! We both got a yacht in Miami and we were just chilling and it happened.When’s the next cameo?
There’s nothing planned, but it’ll probably happen randomly again.
Mill was one of the first people to reach out to Simmons as soon as he was drafted in 2016, and the rapper would follow up on his support by attending his games as soon as he was released from prison.
Sixers minority owner Michael Rubin flew Mill in by helicopter to a home game only hours after his release to perform a ceremonial bell-ringing on the court before the start of the game, which drew support from other public figures like Jay-Z and Kevin Hart.
Mill has been known to have a go-with-the-flow nature in his everyday life, a trait that likely won't stop the next time he's around Simmons or another Sixer, proudly supporting his hometown team.
