Daryl Morey wasn’t out of a job for long. It’s being reported that the former Houston Rockets general manager will join the Sixers. More accurately, he will oversee basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers.
How do we know this? Tickle me glad you asked. It was reported on the mean streets of Twitter to the glee of Sixers fans.
The Philadelphia 76ers are in advanced talks on a deal to hire Daryl Morey to oversee the franchise's basketball operations, sources tell ESPN.

Moreover, it was also reported that Elton Brand is expected to retain his job as general manager. What might result is something only time will tell, but having an experienced GM come in to oversee another, less experienced guy is like putting too many cooks in the kitchen.
A deal is expected to be finalized in the next few days, and Sixers GM Elton Brand is expected to remain in his current position, sources said. https://t.co/fHb5Mds9yG

But that’s all conjecture. Boo, conjecture. At least that’s what I say.
Nonetheless, Daryl Morey brings just a ton of experience to the table, as well as some knowledge he can pass along to his new colleagues. The Sixers are obviously thrilled to be bringing him in. Morey was previously with the Rockets where he was mostly put in a position to fail. In Philly, at least the franchise will likely allow him to try to build a winner.
When the official announcement comes, ClutchPoints will surely keep you posted. Until then, we’ll do our best to keep you up to date on all Daryl Morey and Sixers related news.
