The Philadelphia 76ers have a big issue on their hands with Bryan Colangelo but former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin thinks they still have a leg up on the summer sweepstakes to land LeBron James.

Per Jon Johnson, Griffin was on the Zach Gelb on CBS Sports Radio about James landing in Philly and he thinks because of Rich Paul, that could be the difference.

“I do think it's significant that Rich Paul is the representative for Ben Simmons as well, so he's going to know the org very well. That will certainly give them a leg up.”

Paul is the agent for James and Simmons, and both of those guys have seemed to have grown close since Simmons came into the league.

Paul knows what is going on inside the organization and they can both try and convince James to leave Cleveland to come to the City of Brotherly Love.

Another untalked-about story that could convince James to come to Philadelphia is if the Sixers decide to fire Colangelo, they will be in the market for a new general manager. James and Griffin had a really close relationship, and when Griffin left, it was reported that James was shocked by the move.

If the Sixers were to hire Griffin as the general manager, there would probably be a good chance that James would want to go leave the Cavaliers and team back up with Griffin.

There is still a lot of things to play out here, and to start the Sixers need to figure out what they are doing at GM, but it seems like they have some things in their back pocket that they can use to their advantage.
