The Philadelphia 76ers dropped the ball on Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets, losing in the dying minutes of the fourth quarter despite leading for the entirety of the game. Sixers head coach Doc Rivers made a controversial decision late in the final period when Danny Green looked like he took a charge from Kevin Durant, but instead, it was called a block. Rivers failed to challenge the call and spoke out on his decision following the contest.

Via Sixers Wire:

“We have a guy behind our bench that looks at them,” said Rivers. “He had his thumbs down on all of them.”

As for the other call, it looks like the rock deflected off KD's leg and went out, but the basketball was ultimately given back to the Nets. The Sixers didn't challenge it, either. It's understandable that Rivers listens to his guy on the bench, but in a moment like that, you have to make your own decision. Philly was on the verge of letting a victory slip through their hands and those two calls certainly could've changed the outcome.

Green also air-balled a couple of crucial shots late in the game for the Sixers, but Rivers didn't sound too worried about his sharpshooter:

“The good news with Danny is, I’ll guarantee if he gets one next game, he’ll shoot it. That’s what he does. He’s just gotta keep shooting them. You live with them when they go in, you live with them when they don’t.”

The Sixers are back in action on Sunday against the OKC Thunder.
