J.J. Redick has played just 20 games to date for his new team, the Philadelphia 76ers, 11 of which have been home games. However, it’s apparently taken that quickly for Redick to conclude that the Sixers’ home crowd is the best home support he’s ever played with in his 12-year NBA career.

Redick isn’t the first to comment about how great the Sixers fans have been. Jerryd Bayless shared a similar sentiment earlier this year.

Granted, the Sixers’ home crowd hasn’t really had a high hurdle to jump given the teams Redick’s played for in his career. The Orlando Magic crowds have never been known to be outstanding basketball-viewing audiences. The same goes for the LA Clippers crowds, who likely had a handful of bandwagon fans jumping in after the Clippers got good a few years ago.

Nevertheless, the Philly fans, who have a long history of being extremely passionate about their sports teams, deserve credit for going all in on the Sixers this year.

They toiled for many years while Sam Hinkie laid out his pain-staking “Process,” but that’s finally paying off this year with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid playing like legitimate superstars in the making. The Sixers fans are rightfully ecstatic about their team's success, and Redick is rightfully commending them for their support.
