Joel Embiid has never been afraid to speak his mind, especially when it came to the woman that he was chasing. During the 2014-15 NBA season, he sent out a tweet talking about a famous girl he was chasing, and many believed he was talking about singer and songwriter Rihanna.

When it was announced he was a 2018 NBA All-Star Game starter, many went after Rihanna and asked if she was finally going to give him his date. But now, Embiid is talking and he said that tweet might not even be about Rihanna. When he was talking in a phone interview on Thursday night with For The Win, he had the following to say:

“We got to put this to rest,” Embiid said to FTW with a chuckle. “I never said it was Rihanna, and I'm never gonna say who it is, maybe might not be, but I never actually mentioned a name. I feel bad for her after my interview when I got picked for All-Star, everyone was kinda going crazy at her. I feel bad because I never said it was her. Maybe someone else. I don't know. She's probably gonna regret it … I'm beautiful, the women love me, they love my accent, and they just love everything about me. Basketball is just the icing on the cake. I don't know.”

So is Embiid just trying to fool everyone again? Or does he actually have a different girl he is trying to get a date with after making his first All-Star Game? No matter what the case is, one thing is for sure: Embiid is quite the jokester and really likes to keep everyone guessing.
