Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid takes a lot of hard tumbles on the basketball court, and Sixers head coach Doc Rivers is still getting used to it. Rivers admits the “falls are terrible” and even says his daughter Callie, who's married to Sixers guard Seth Curry, is constantly freaked out by them.

Via ESPN's Ramona Shelburne:

After one game, Rivers says, he heard from his daughter, Callie, who is married to point guard Seth Curry. “[She] called me and said, ‘Joel scares the s— out of me every game.'”

It's only natural to worry when such a giant human is always falling to the ground, especially when it's somebody like the Sixers center who has had a long history of injuries in his career. Los Angeles Lakers fans have to deal with the same thing when it comes to Anthony Davis.

Embiid claims the falls are on purpose and that he takes cues from flopping soccer players. He prefers to fall like that in order to avoid awkward landings that would lead to more injuries.

One of those awkward landings actually nearly cost Embiid his 2020-21 season. The MVP candidate indeed thought his season was over back on March 12 when his knee bent backward.

Luckily, it wasn't a season-ending injury for the big man, and the Sixers are ready to attack the playoffs with their top superstar in action. Philly is on the verge of clinching the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

As the Sixers head to the playoffs, don't expect to see Joel Embiid stop falling, even if it scares the bejesus out of Doc Rivers, his daughter and Sixers fans all over.
