The Philadelphia 76ers stand atop the Eastern Conference after racking up six consecutive victories, none bigger than their latest win against the upstart Chicago Bulls.

The Sixers early-season success goes far beyond the shoulders of Joel Embiid – and he knows it too. The Cameroonian big man was vocal on his Bulls win co-star Furkan Korkmaz.

Via Rich Hofmann:

Joel Embiid on Furkan Kormaz’s career: “He’s gotten so much better.” “From him being a standstill shooter to where he’s at now, it just speaks to the work he’s put in to become a better player, a more complete player.”

The Sixers sharpshooter was on point in Chicago, tallying 25 points on a stellar 9-for-13 shooting clip and 7-for-9 from distance.  Korkmaz is on pace for his most efficient season shooting the ball yet in his five-year career. He's shooting 48.8% from the field and 42.6% from downtown after this game, both career-highs by a decent margin.

With both Tobias Harris and Danny Green out of action for the foreseeable future, it's been a team effort to fill the void and muster up enough support around Joel Embiid. Guys like Korkmaz, Tyrese Maxey, Seth Curry, Shake Milton, and Georges Niang have all shined in spurts to give the Sixers depth it hasn't seen in a while.
