The Philadelphia 76ers might be about to get much better. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted out that starting center Joel Embiid might make his return from COVID on Saturday. The Sixers star has missed the last eight games.

They also might get Tobias Harris back from his hip injury. Harris has missed the last two games after injuring his hip last Saturday vs the Portland Trailblazers.

The Sixers could really use Embiid back in the lineup. Since he went out with COVID-19, Philadelphia has gone 2-6 and fallen all the way to 8th place in the Eastern Conference at 10-9.

The Sixers have used 10 different starting lineups in the 19 games played this season. Continuity has clearly been an issue.

Philadelphia has already had plenty of turmoil this season, even before Joel Embiid went out with COVID-19. Star forward Ben Simmons has held out all season. It's become one of the biggest talking points in the NBA this season.

Simmons has consistently stated that he will not play for the Sixers ever again, asking for a trade. There has been a lot of discussions with many different teams inquiring about his services. But Philadelphia is yet to pull the trigger. The hot start to the season played into the organization standing pat, but recent struggles and injuries might force their hand.

While Embiid has been out, second year guard out of Kentucky, Tyrese Maxey, has stepped up offensively. He has emerged as a solid scoring option. Now that it appears Embiid and possibly Harris might be back, the Sixers might once again be a team to be reckoned with in the East.
