Ben Simmons is making his highly-anticipated return to Philadelphia… sort of. The Brooklyn Nets point forward has yet to suit up for his new club ever since the 76ers traded him away for James Harden.

Simmons won't be playing, but he will be in the arena as he supports his Nets teammate from the bench – and apparently that's enough incentive for Sixers fans to pay top dollar on tickets. The chance to hurl vile vitriol at him, or perhaps hear others do so and live vicariously through them, is something money can't always buy.

According to CBS Philly, even cheapest tickets in the building would cost you over $100 despite not having a guaranteed seat.

Via CBS Philly:

At last check, the cheapest tickets cost $125 — and that’s for standing room only.

If you have some more money to spend, two courtside seats are up for grabs on StubHub for more than $10,000 each.

Sixers fans aren't exactly known to hold back on the hostility when it comes to heckling rival star players. But this one-of-a-kind scenario could get testy in an unprecedented manner as Ben Simmons is within earshot of the fans who scorned him (or whom he scorned, depending who you ask).

It's no surprise that the price for tickets skyrocketed to this magnitude after the rates already soared just minutes after the Sixers-Nets' Harden-for-Simmons swap was announced prior to the NBA trade deadline. The secondary market ticket prices suddenly more than tripled as a heavyweight bout between two Eastern Conference contenders suddenly turned into a grudge match with WWE-esque storylines involved.

The fans in Philadelphia are clearly lining up to see the enigma known as Ben Simmons for the first time after officially leaving the Sixers. While it certainly won't be the last, the beef will likely never be this fresh again.
