The first time Philadelphia 76ers star Tobias Harris did yoga, he almost “passed out.” The Sixers are happy that didn't happen.

Harris initially started doing yoga to become flexible, but now the Sixers star does it for “the meditation experience and just the soothing and calming experience.”

“When I first started yoga, I was looking to do it more for the workout aspect of it, and now I kind of do it more for the meditation experience and just the soothing and calming experience, mixed with being able to put your muscles and stretch in different positions,” Harris said, via Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

“It puts me in a spot where I can use my breath and hone in and focus on my own personal inner being. Physical health and mental health go hand in hand. Every day I wake up and go work out, and it's not because I have to do it, it's because it's good for my own well-being as a person to be able to get up and move every day.”

Being mentally healthy is just as important as being physically fit.

After Kevin Love revealed during the 2017-18 season he was dealing with mental health issues, DeMar DeRozan and other players came out about their own struggles. Now, the league is making sure its players are mentally stable.

The Sixers re-signed Tobias Harris to the richest deal in franchise history this summer. Harris signed a five-year, $180 million deal. Philly is a title contender with its new Big 4 of Joel Embiid, Al Horford, Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris.
