Before the Jimmy Butler trade was agreed upon with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers stars Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid were consulted about the deal, according to Kyle Neubeck of Philly Voice.

Some members of the Sixers organization expressed concern about the potential chemistry issues Jimmy Butler could cause with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

Butler, a four-time All-Star, had issues with Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns in Minnesota and was also a locker room cancer with the Chicago Bulls.

However, once the Timberwolves came down on their asking price for Jimmy Butler within the last few days, the Sixers began to engage in more serious discussions with Minnesota.

Jimmy Butler, who can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019 if he declines his 2019-20 player option, plans on re-signing with the Sixers in the offseason on a long-term deal.

In 10 games this season, Butler is averaging 21.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while shooting 47.1 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.7 percent from the free-throw line. The Sixers now have a Big Three of Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, a trio Philadelphia is hoping will mesh together and lead the franchise to the NBA Finals.

Butler, who has a huge ego, has to know that Joel Embiid is the best player on the team. It's going to be interesting to see if Butler, Embiid and Simmons will get along or butt heads.
