Let the crazy offseason trade rumblings begin. Just moments after the Philadelphia 76ers were ousted in Game 7 against the Atlanta Hawks, the buzz on trading All-Star Ben Simmons started up in an instant.

NBA insider Marc Stein noted that the Sixers' plans are clear this offseason. But while they may be interested, it's the other parties that might not be.

“The Sixers will obviously explore the Ben Simmons trade market in the offseason … as seen in January when Simmons was the centerpiece of Philadelphia's James Harden pursuit. That's not the question. Try: Is there a market now?” (Via Marc Stein)

That James Harden trade that the Sixers reportedly passed on looks better in hindsight. Joel Embiid was stellar on paper in Game 7, posting 31 points and 11 rebounds. His efficiency from the field was good too, making 11 shots out of his 21 attempts. But you could feel how the Sixers just yearned for a perimeter play-maker to flank Embiid's interior excellence. Embiid was forced to handle the rock throughout, leading to a back-breaking eight total turnovers.

Ben Simmons meanwhile had just five points for the Sixers, taking just four shots and making two of them. It's clear that despite his immense talent, the fit might not be there in Philadelphia.
