Well, if Stephen A. Smith is right, the Ben Simmons drama with the Sixers has taken a bit of a turn.

The ESPN personality revealed on Tuesday during a First Take episode that he received a very worrisome text from someone close to the situation in Philly regarding Simmons.

Keep in mind, Stephen A has done this many, many times where he reveals a text message on live television. But if this is true, it doesn't bode well for Ben Simmons' future with the Sixers.

The Aussie has been ripped to shreds across the last two days after the 76ers were eliminated by the Hawks in seven games on Sunday night. The trade rumors are heating up immensely for the 24-year-old, who shot an atrocious 34% from the charity stripe in the playoffs.

Sixers head coach Doc Rivers has also come to Ben Simmons' defense throughout the campaign when people have put him on blast for his inability to shoot the rock. But after basically choking on the big stage, his future with the organization definitely seems rocky.

Simmons doesn't exactly seem like a lazy player. We have to take these comments above with a grain of salt because it's impossible to know the reality of the situation. Nonetheless, the Sixers guard has taken it upon himself to spend the summer working on his game and is even considering changing from left to right-handed.

A move away from the Sixers could be the best decision for Ben Simmons career, though.
