In his first official season, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons has taken the league by storm with his stellar play.

During Sunday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Simmons threw down a vicious one-handed dunk over All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins that he proceeded to give the big man a long staredown after the play.

Although it lacked the facial variety of dunks, there was much pure confidence that Simmons displayed to potentially be challenged by one of the game's best big men at the rim. The 21-year-old Sixers rookie has exemplified that level of confidence throughout the first several weeks of the season that has had many of his colleagues voice huge praise toward him.

Ben Simmons has shown the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways currently averaging near triple-double numbers with 17.6 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per contest. His 18 games with least 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists are third to Russell Westbrook (22) and LeBron James (20).

He has quickly emerged as one of the game's best young players and clear-cut frontrunner for this season's Rookie of the Year award. Simmons has the ability to greatly impact the game with his scoring along with his unique passing skills despite standing at 6-foot-10. If he Ben Simmons stay healthy for the Sixers, the sky could be the limit for his potential stardom in the league over the next decade.
