Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid went scoreless for the first time in his career during Monday's game against the Toronto Raptors, but he made sure on his first shot of the game Wednesday versus the Sacramento Kings that lightning would not strike twice.

Former teammate Richuan Holmes was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time, incurring the wrath of a frustrated Embiid, who would not be denied.

Embiid carried this intensity throughout the first half, compiling 15 points and 11 rebounds across his first 17 minutes of action. Toronto may have figured out how to stem Embiid's offensive tide, but the Kings have had no such answers through the first half of play. It was unlikely that Embiid, who is averaging 21 points and 11.8 rebounds per game, would be slowed for two consecutive contests as he makes his push for the league's MVP Award.
