Barcelona has reportedly come up with a solution to Ousmane Dembele's seemingly difficult contract extension situation.
Upon being hired as new Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has set the record straight during his presentation that Ousmane Dembele's contract renewal will be a “priority.” Now, the Catalans are once again working on securing a fresh set of terms for the French winger with a hope that all parties will finally be able to pull it off, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
Per the report, Barcelona is looking for “a way to balance” the club's “delicate financial situation” but still eyeing to come up with a persuasive offer for Dembele. In order to get the job done, Barca is said to have considered using the “Alemany formula,” a name derived from Barcelona director Mateu Alemany.
In it, the report said that Barcelona will be proposing a contract primarily based on Dembele's participation and performance, the same approach in contract signing Alemany used during spells with Real Mallorca and Valencia.

In simpler terms, the forward's salary will depend on him “staying fit.”
Dembele is Barcelona's second most expensive signing of all time. Injuries halted his rise to stardom at Camp Nou but he found a new lease on life under the tutelage of former Barca manager Ronald Koeman.
