Despite the negative news regarding lower subscriber counts and cutbacks on specific productions, it seems that Netflix is still going strong when it comes to their animation projects, or at least for their kid-friendly animations, as they have recently showcased a handful of cartoon animations that are currently available on their streaming platform, or will be in the coming months. These cartoons include The Cuphead Show, Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, and many more. But at the end of the preview reel, a new animated project was teased: Sonic Prime. In a joint venture by SEGA and animation studio WildBrain, Sonic Prime will be set to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2022 as a 24-part series.
As part of their press release, they've gone on to state that this project will be brought to life by Man of Action Entertainment as showrunners and Executive Producers for the series. While the teaser preview was very brief, it showcased Sonic the Hedgehog doing what he's best known for: collecting golden rings, making wisecracks, and running fast, all set to the classic locale of Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 1 on the Sega Genesis.

While no release window has been given, Sonic Prime will be premiering on Netflix in 2022.
