New York Knicks icon Charles Oakley didn't like David Robinson's involvement in the Kawhi Leonard and San Antonio Spurs saga, as The Admiral stepped in, hoping to reach Leonard through a summer of madness.

His multiple calls went unanswered — a sign that Leonard has already distanced himself from the organization.

“I think David was wrong,” said Charles Oakley. “David played in the league a long time, he was an ambassador for the league, did a lot for the NBA, his family, friends in San Antone. I don't think that was his business to get into Kawhi Leonard, let alone with management because I've never know David Robinson to speak out about no issues.”

As far as why Leonard didn't work out in San Antonio, Oakley had a fairly simple response.

“Kawhi is a quiet kid and Pop is a great coach, but sometimes you rub players the wrong way,” he said.

Robinson is also a minority-owner of the Spurs, which gave him enough power to try and make amends with Leonard. But the 27-year-old had already made up his mind about wanting out of San Antonio, making Robinson's efforts rather futile.

Do you guys agree with Charles Oakley or was David Robinson right to try to fix the Kawhi Leonard-Spurs fiasco?
