For the San Antonio Spurs, it is just another day and yet another that head coach Gregg Popovich's team did not have the services of star forward Kawhi Leonard. This has been the case now for most of the season, as Leonard has missed all but nine games during the 2017-18 campaign due to his lingering quad injury.
It has developed a lot of controversy as to why the All-Star's return continues to be delayed and what his relationship is like with the Spurs organization. Whatever the case may be, there is still no timetable for Leonard's return to the lineup.
According to a tweet on Tuesday afternoon from Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News, Popovich opened up about the adjustments that would need to be made if Leonard did indeed return in time for the playoffs.

“The logical. Minutes would change for people, positions would change, the synchronicity of what you might want to do might have to return at some point,” coach Popovich said.
Heading into their road contest tonight against the Washington Wizards, San Antonio finds itself with a 43-31 record, which is good for the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. The playoff race is still extremely competitive, as the Spurs are just 1.5 games away from the No. 8 seed and 3.0 away from being bumped out of the playoffs as the No. 9 seed.
We probably won't know what exactly is going on in the Spurs locker room when it comes to Leonard returning, but coach Popovich will have to work with what he currently has available.
